Built by people who were tired of contracts being the bottleneck.
We're a small team based in Stadtroda, Thüringen, building a playbook engine for contracts that we wished existed at every company we worked at before this one.
A three-week delay on a contract nobody disagreed about.
Before Conlegie, our founders worked on opposite sides of the same problem — David building fraud-detection ML systems at a payments company, Elena running legal operations at a logistics scale-up. Both watched the same failure mode play out repeatedly: a contract that everyone basically agreed was fine sat in a review queue for weeks, not because anyone disputed the terms, but because nobody had time to confirm it against the informal set of rules the legal team carried around in their heads.
The fix wasn't more lawyers. It was writing the rules down, once, in a form that could be applied consistently and fast — and building software that actually respected those rules instead of replacing human judgment with a generic model of "best practices" nobody at the company had agreed to.
Headquartered outside the usual startup map.
We're based in Stadtroda, a small town in the Freistaat Thüringen — not Berlin, not Munich. It wasn't a strategic branding decision so much as where our first two engineers already lived, but it's turned into a genuine advantage: lower overhead, a founding team that isn't competing with a dozen other startups for the same office space, and daily proximity to Jena's engineering talent pool without Jena's rents.
Our customers are distributed across Germany, the rest of the EU, the UK, and the US. Being headquartered in Thüringen has never been a limitation on who we serve — contract review doesn't care what city your vendor is in.
Three commitments that shape every product decision
Your playbook, not our opinion
We don't believe in a universal definition of a “risky” clause. Every recommendation Conlegie makes is grounded in a fallback position your own team defined.
Explain everything
If a flag can't be explained in one plain sentence, it doesn't ship. Trust is built by showing the reasoning, not hiding it behind a score.
Know what you don't know
A confident wrong answer is worse than no answer. Low-confidence matches route to a human instead of getting silently resolved either way.
A small team, on purpose.
We'd rather stay small and ship a playbook engine people trust than grow fast and ship one they route around.
